Matthew 7 is very disturbing, especially 7:22.
Hell is very real, which is why I ascribe to the quote from Charles Spurgeon:
“If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.”
When it speaks in 7:22, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?”, I can’t help but also think of further down in that chapter in verses 13-14:
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Who or what do you believe in? Why do you think it matters?
