What I Am Reading Right Now

51nHFry7X6L._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_“Apparently, this professor of philosphy was not familiar with the law of non-contradiction. That law states, ‘A cannot be A and non-A at the same time and in the same relationship.’ When we confess our faith in the Trinity, we affirm that God is one in essence and three in person.” I’ll be commenting on this more as I get into its depths. As a Christian, a believer in Jesus of the Trinity, I need to be able to explain the Trinity so non-theologians can understand it. The more I get into Christianity, the more I want to learn more and be able to defend my faith as well.

So now to define essence.

Essence is, “the basic nature of a thing : the quality or qualities that make a thing what it is: a substance that contains in very strong form the special qualities (such as the taste and smell) of the thing from which it is taken.”

Person is, “a :  one of the three modes of being in the Trinitarian Godhead as understood by Christians. b :  the unitary personality of Christ that unites the divine and human natures.”
