Investigative Thinking

Former Mormons and Mormons both know some or all of their past or present religion. When perusing some of the comments on Steven Roberts post about our small group meeting on May 29, I noticed that a couple of people seemed hesitant because I am a former Mormon.

Former or Ex-Mormon doesn’t necessarily mean bitter or biased. I encourage people to talk to Mormons and former Mormons. Always compare what you learn with what is in the Bible. The Bible is the book that the Christian belief is based upon. If you claim you are Christian, you believe in the Bible. If the religion is true, it won’t contradict the Bible.

I would encourage you to take a look at these resources:

  • The first is a pod cast by J.D. Payne. In this he speaks to a guy in Utah by the name of Travis Kearns. Travis studied Mormon doctrine. He is on friendly terms with other Mormons. Listen here.
  • The second is by a pastor with years of experience and study in the Mormon cult. READ HERE.
  • And lastly, two former Mormons have an entire ministry. They are very kind people. Not at all the bitterness usually associated with former Mormons. READ HERE.

If you are a former Mormon or one that would like a safe place to gather so your family won’t get upset that you are questioning years of tradition, join my group. Click here.

We don’t use this group as another place to bash our kind Mormon neighbors, but study the Bible and see how it can be applied to our lives.

I prefer private conversation. You are more than welcome to email me in lieu of a comment or contact me via social media.
